Chinatown and the Night Market – small adventure

For a small adventure in the city this summer (yes, it’s supposedly here!), before you venture out on the town – stop by the Chinatown Night Market! On now until Sept. 12, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6-11pm. You’ll not only find fun little things to purchase, laugh at and look at, but there are lots of cool things to buy too. Like designer t-shirts, handmade jewelry and pillow cases with style – all for cheap! Most importantly, you’ll be able to try some street food too!

Although the name is un-exciting – the curry fishballs on a stick – 6 for $2 were really tasty, or the 4 skewers of bbq meat for $5 is a great value. Other delights to choose from were the gyoza, steamed bbq pork buns, corn on the cob and shrimp dumplings. The pan-fried rice rolls are delish, tuna and octopus balls and for dessert the nutella tart wheels, is warm and gooey. Think of it as a taster before you head out for dinner or drinks elsewhere.

Or just pop into Bao Bei for chinese tapas and drinks, which is right there (same block). Or The Keefer Bar, also right on the same block with a very funky patio on the sidewalk overlooking the Night Market. I can’t think of a better place to go on a warm summers night!
