If you haven’t been to Granville Island in a while, it’s time you visited again. Lots has changed. Do you remember the Wood Co-op that used was beside the bank machines outside? Well that space has transformed into a refreshing Bistro with a great outdoor patio! Called: Edible @ The Market.
All the menu is with a BC focus and lots of the recipes incorporate BC products from their culinary store. It’s a simple menu, with lots of flavour and unique dishes. All created and inspired by Chef Jenn and Eric the owner. They have done a really good job.
Okay, so if you are a french fry connoisseur, you must get a Side of Fries cooked in duck fat, crunchy and nice flavour. The Seafood Soup – is pure heaven. Sooo flavourful, I would say there isn’t anything like it in the city. The Vegetarian Gnocchi is out of this world with a mix of mushrooms and vegetables, it would make a meat eater ask for more. The Fish and Chips are a nice change from the heavily battered and greasy ones around the city, served with a bacon aioli. Oh an, 65% of the menu is gluten-free, but you wouldn’t know it! The Onion Rings were probably some of the best I have had. Crunchy but meaty and they don’t fall apart. Served with a tasty cilantro aioli. And for those stopping in for breakfast or brunch, it’s a must to have the Breakfast Tacos. My new favourite. Eggs, chorizo sausage, salsa on a corn tortilla, oh my, a little embarrassing when sitting by yourself and you eat the dish faster than the server coming back to check on your meal!! 🙂
As well, they have a good BC wine list and offer red and white wine on tap from Nichol Vineyards. How clever.
The whole menu is extremely decently priced as well. So, head to the market, do some shopping, explore the vendors and then sit down and enjoy a great brunch, lunch or dinner at Edible @ The Market. You’ll love this refreshing newcomer.
