A Rosé Wine List for the Holidays

I am not sure if you know about a little side project of mine, called ‘The Pink Tank‘, BUT – now you do! A good friend of mine – Christine Campbell (who loves wine and also writes about it) and I have been doing fun, unedited Rosé Wine reviews since 2014 or 2015. We met while taking a French Wine Scholar Course in Vancouver, and we just got along instantly! So usually together, we share our Rosé reviews on YouTube, Instagram, and our Facebook page.

We both love Rosé, the different styles, discovering new varietals used, and producers from around the world. Our aim is to make wine fun. Because it is! Yes, we can all turn it into research and discovery and drill down our notes and get precise, but at the end of the day, we need to enjoy what we are drinking. And sometimes, turning off the brain and just sipping and enjoying is all that is needed.

As Christine and I cannot physically see each other at the moment, we decided to Zoom our latest Rosé review. She is one of my favourite wine people, and I adore her even when we can only connect via the web.

So, check out our fun video featuring Okanagan Crush Pad‘s Narrative Rosé 2019 and Little Engine Wines Rosé 2019 – both from the Okanagan Valley, BC. And if you like our quirkiness, subscribe to our channel and we welcome you to join us on Instagram and Facebook!

As well, we curated a list of Rosé’s to enjoy for the Holdays!

Explore, sip & have a very Merry Christmas!

Until next time – happy sipping, Donita

Sierra Salinas 2019 Bobal Rosé – Valencia, SPAIN

A delightful pink grapefruit with a dusting of sugar on top and some wild strawberry notes, it’s light yet round and crisp. It delivers for the value! *Available at BC Liquor Stores.

Mirabel Vineyards 2016 Blanc de Noir Rosé – Okanagan Valley, BC, CANADA

Pretty and approachable. Delicate notes of wild blossoms with fresh pink grapefruit, white peaches, and wild strawberry. It’s got fruit for the body but a juicy spine of acidity to balance it out. I think this wine is delightful and refreshing. *Available at Mirabel Vineyards Winery, Private or VQA Liquor Store.

Mirabeau 2019 Classic Rosé AOP Côtes de Provence, FRANCE

Notes of wild strawberries, raspberry and redcurrant, zesty apple, and a few herbaceous notes with a nice balance of acidity. It’s tangy, zesty, herby, and such a fun rosé to enjoy with or without food! *Available at Jaks Liquor Stores.

Narrative Rosé 2019 Okanagan Valley BC VQA – CANADA

Savoury and Satisfying. This Rosé exemplifies what well-crafted British Columbian Rosés can be.  Bright and bursting with fresh red berry notes, a hint of wild sage, and a perfect dose of acidity.  Enjoy. Repeat. *Available at the Okanagan Crush Pad and Everything Wine Liquor Store.

Gérard Bertrand Côtes de Roses Rosé – Languedoc/Roussillon, FRANCE

A ‘pretty in pink’ Rosé – even the bottle is feminine!  A gentle bouquet of red current and fresh strawberry lingers on the palate along with rose floral notes. This Rosé has a lingering finish and is beautifully balanced – you will feel like you are sitting on a beach in southern France basking in the sunshine. *Available at BC Liquor and Everything Wine Liquor Stores.

Tightrope Rosé 2019 Naramata Bench, BC VQA – CANADA

One of my favourite Rosés of 2020, Tightrope Winery’s Rosé is made with a delicious blend of Pinot Noir and Barbera – so good!  On the palate, you will enjoy an elevated flavour profile with notes of field strawberry, red grapefruit, and a hint of floral at the end. *Available at BC Liquor and Everything Wine Liquor Stores.
